InterviewHCG: So I am here with the original, female Shane, from Shane’s World.
S: Now Shane Dot TV.
HCG: When did you start in porn?
S: I started in…God…
HCG: I thought we might start with the quick recap for those who don’t know the whole story.
S: Do I really have to come up with a year? I don’t remember right now.
HCG: Well then, how did you get in? Was it, as has been suggested, through Seymore Butts?
S: Yes it was actually.
HCG: So how did he get you into porn?
S: I kind of got myself in. Do you want the real story? Because there is the real story and then there is the story you can watch in the video.
HCG: You know I want the real story.
S: So I met him when I was strip dancing. I broke my rule, which was never to date anyone who I met in the club.
HCG: Where were you dancing?
S: At the Bare Elegance, on Century Boulevard, right next to the 405.
HCG: I know where that is, next to the airport.
S: Not the Nudes! Nudes! Nudes! place…
HCG: Not the cheese ball club.
S: No.

S: Yeah, well, whatever. I didn’t really like that club either. I worked at the Jet Strip later and liked it much better. Anyways, the night that I met him I happened to be at ‘the Bare’. We exchanged numbers and I called him up the next day and asked him if he wanted to go out for ice cream. I couldn’t think of anything better.
HCG: You asked Seymore Butts out on a date?
S: I asked him out for ice cream, yeah.
HCG: How old were you then? 18?
S: No I was, I think I was over 21.
HCG: So you were legal then?
S: I think I was exactly 21.
HCG: So you were a hot little 21 YO asking him out for ice cream?
S: Yeah, whatever. He takes me out on our first date and we were going to go see a movie in Santa Monica on the Promenade. So the movie didn’t start until much later so it was my idea to go shoot some pool while we waited and have some cocktails. Seymore isn’t much of a drinker, but I didn’t know this at the time.
HCG: Did you get him drunk?
S: No, not really. We had fun playing pool. I kept trying to distract him by bending over and trying to ruin his shot, whipping out my tits. I had no idea what he did at this point mind you.
HCG: How is that possible?

HCG: How did you find World Modeling at 18?
S: One of my friends took me in to the office.
HCG: Is that where you met Clive McClain from Hustler?

HCG: Is there any truth to the rumor that you and Clive hooked up back when you were 18?

HCG: I think that is one of the things that made your show so popular is that you could literally end up in a Shane video.
S: Totally. One time we had a couple come out from Canada and they were so stoked to be here. They didn’t even want to do anything, but they were fine. They didn’t even really want to be seen on camera.
HCG: Did they end up in the movie?
S: No, they just hung out and had a good time.
HCG: What is your favorite Shane’s World?
S: Number one. Definitely.
HCG: What was great about it?
S: It was my first shoot and anything that could have gone wrong did. Everything cost me pretty much twice as much as it should have. It was just a learning process. Thank God I have that thing inside of me to get through that. Looking back it was fun. I don’t know. It’s my favorite one to watch. It’s just funny. They are all funny.
HCG: How many did you make?
S: 18.
HCG: And then you departed from them?
S: I licensed the trademark off to someone else and now I do Shane TV.
HCG: Why did you license it off then?
S: I was trying to adopt a baby.
HCG: Did you?
S: No. I had him for a few months and the mom changed her mind.
HCG: Was the mom Sky?
S: Yes.
HCG: I recall this story. Didn’t you and Billy Glide find Sky?
S: He did and brought her to me and I bought her a pair of boobies. I built her…[laughter]
HCG: Do you still talk? Are you friends?
S: I saw her at CES, which was the first time I had seen her since everything changed.
HCG: I don’t think they call it that anymore, since it isn’t the Consumer Electronics Show that we are a part of anymore. Now it is Just the AVN Expo I believe.
S: Oh, okay. It was good to see her. I said hi and I got to talk to her on the phone a while after that. She is still crazy as ever. I haven’t seen her since.
HCG: So then you met your husband who is in the band Orgy?
S: We were actually involved before the whole adoption thing started.
HCG: How long have you been married?
S: Seven and a half years, and by the way it was a month after we came back from our honey moon that he got with the band Orgy.
HCG: So he wasn’t even in the band when you got together?
S: No. They got together right after we got back. Then he was gone doing the album and then he was gone doing the tour. I didn’t even really see him for like two and a half years, not too much.
HCG: Isn’t Orgy sponsored by Korn?
S: They were on Korn’s label but now they are on their own.
HCG: Do they still hang out with the Family Values crew?
S: Yeah. I always see some of the guys from time to time.
HCG: Do you ever get calls from Jonathan Davis and Devin Davis?
S: Devin was just at my house on Sunday.
HCG: Was she asking for advice on how to make their Korn porn?
S: No. Not at all. They are actually having a baby right now, so they are focused on that. She is like the cutest pregnant person I have ever seen in my life. Oh my God. She is awesome. She is so cute right now. I can barely stand it.
HCG: What are you doing with Shane Dot TV (http://shane.tv) then?
S: It’s pretty much going to be like Shane’s World style. It is a movie line but I wanted to give it a Dot Com type name because then it is that much easier for people to remember the URL. The website is being built right now to go along with it and should be launched very soon.
HCG: By January you think?
S: Yeah. I am just waiting on my husband because he does all my editing. Right now he has been working on the Orgy DVD.
HCG: Oh.
S: So that has taken precedence over my website. It is so funny because I made a sign for him that said Shane’s World grossed this much last month and hung it on there, like that could be our money.
HCG: I was under the impression that there was a great deal of anticipation for the release of this site.
S: I don’t want it to suck. I want it to be a big, great site with lots of stuff. We actually have three sites linked together with it.
HCG: Does that include a fan site for just you?

HCG: What are you doing, personally? Are you just directing?
S: No.
HCG: Now that you are married, are you just doing girls or will you be doing guys again?
S: It is so funny that you mention that because I did say this before, I am a girl of many moods and it just depends on which day you catch me on. This morning I woke up super early and I was working on the budget for my next shoot, which I am doing in Costa Rica. I was waiting for my husband to wake up so I could tell him my new genius idea, which is to take three girls and two guys and shoot two movies, and I want to make sure that the cast is super fun to get along with and then we can get super drunk and I will give them the camera and they can shoot us. He was like, yeah baby.
HCG: So he would perform with you?
S: Well he said so this morning but I guess we will have to see what happens, because I am moody about it and so is he. We’ll just have to see what happens there. Some days we are like yeah and other days we don’t think it is a good idea.
HCG: When are you going to Costa Rica?
S: I want to go in December. I want to go before the Expo.
HCG: So, let me ask again, we know the guy part, but are you going to do any chicks, because I remember a Shane that was really into girls?
S: I don’t know. It depends on my husband pretty much, because he gets really weird about it. In my personal life he just lets me go crazy but in front of the camera for all the world to witness, he just feels a little, you know?

S: It depends on how we are both feeling about it at the time. That is why I don’t schedule everything on my shoots. I just kind of shoot the party and see what happens. That’s how it is.
