HCG: Why is it so hard to say your name right?
JL: I don’t know. I don’t ask for people to say Lindemulder.
HCG: That’s why people usually just call you Janine.
JL: That’s why.
HCG: It’s your birthday today, isn’t it?
JL: It’s my birthday.
HCG: What sign does that make you?
JL: Scorpio, in every sense of the word. I’m all Scorpio, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
HCG: So what’s up?
JL: What is up?
HCG: Tell me what is going on with you now?
JL: Where shall I start?
HCG: You live in Oregon now, correct?
JL: I live in Oregon with my kids and I brought my mom up there and my sister up there and we are all happy and healthy.
HCG: Didn’t you tell me that you lived on a farm?
JL: I live on a farm, yes. 116 acre farm. This is my new life. This is the life that I dreamt about since I was a kid and it came true. I finally had the opportunity and guts and gumption to make that big step. I did it and thank God I did. There is not a bit that I regret. I love the town. I love the people. I love that it is quiet. I don’t long for the big city. You know I still get a little, bits and pieces of the city when I come to work, so that’s all well and good, but most of the time I just want to tend to my farm, tend to my kids, and live a simple, non drama life, and it is working out for me.
HCG: Are you dancing at all again?
JL: Not a lot. I don’t work a lot period.
HCG: So there is no talk of another Blondage tour?
JL: Oh no there is always talk. I love Julia [Ann]. I always will. Any time that she calls and says ‘let’s go do Blondage’ I will. It’s just a matter of our schedules blending for us to do that. Actually her on the road on her own and myself on the road on my own, we make more money that way. But it is…I have a hell of a lot of fun when we do Blondage. I would much rather do it more for fun, for shits and giggles. So I guess that is something that definitely could happen in the future.
HCG: Are you exclusive to Vivid?
JL: No. I am under no contract.
HCG: None at all?
JL: Not at all.
HCG: Why does it seem like you are?
JL: I don’t know. I’ve been with Vivid for so long. But even on my first go around with Vivid it was basically on a handshake.
HCG: When was that?
JL: From 1993 to 2000. Seven years, about, but most of the time I liked working with them and they liked working with me so we did.
HCG: Who are you interested in working with again? For example, if Andrew Blake called you up would you go to work for him again?
JL: Yes. Yes I would.
HCG: I think a lot of people believe you are under contract. I know I did.
JL: I’m not.
HCG: So if someone was shooting a large feature movie, they could contact you to be in it?
JL: It is possible.
HCG: What are you looking to do?
JL: Exactly what I am doing. I would like…actually I have done the acting thing and I like it and I am getting a kick out of working with men…and of course the women…I just finished a scene with Dascha, it was my first time working with Dascha, and man, I love that girl.
HCG: We all know you love women, a lot.
JL: Oh man!
HCG: That is one of the things that I really like about you.
JL: I haven’t had a crush on a girl for a long time and right now I am just ga ga for Dascha. She surprised me. She is such a little wallflower. You get that girl heated up in bed…wow…my eyeballs were as big as saucers. I was just like holy [expletive deleted]! I do love what I am doing, but the one thing that I want to try my hand at, I do want to get behind the camera. I do want to see what kind of scenes I would come up with.
HCG: What kind of movies would you like to make, if you did direct?
JL: I’m not sure. I think I would like to just get behind the camera and run with it.
HCG: I wonder if you wouldn’t make fantastic all girl movies simply because you have such a lust for women.
JL: I do. I have a lust for women…but I have a lust for men as well, so I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.
HCG: Are you dating around in your personal life?
JL: No. Having a ten month old and a thirteen year old, a teenager and a toddler, and going to work, there is no room for dating.
HCG: Do you use your work to fulfill that aspect of your life, meaning the desire to fuck guys?
JL: Exactly, exactly. When I am at home, I know a lot of people don’t buy it, but I don’t bring guys home, you know, I don’t fuck around. I don’t meet guys in bars and fuck them in their cars.
HCG: Why would you?
JL: I wouldn’t. I would rather go to work where I know the guys are safe and it is a controlled environment.
HCG: Who are you working now, that you like?
JL: Overall? Julian and Dale Dabone, Nick Manning…and the guy with long blond hair…shit…why can’t I remember his name right now? But I’ve got a handful of guys I like working with.
HCG: Did you handpick them?
JL: Oh yeah.
HCG: Are you worried about guys being too aggressive or is there a style of fucking you like best?
JL: No, I am not worried about aggressive guys. I like guys that are assertive, but they really have to know what they are doing. I love to push my boundaries, but the one thing, hold on…This movie here was an absolute fucking fiasco.
HCG: I did hear that there were some issues, something like that.
JL: Fiasco.
HCG: No one feels bad about saying that oddly enough, despite people’s best intentions, that is just how it turns out sometimes. It’s not the crews fault for lack of trying.
JL: Yeah.
HCG: Why do you think that it wasn’t all that you hoped it would be?
JL: This was the first time, I think ever in my career, that I’ve met somebody that, um, we are on two different planets.
HCG: I think that is what Rocco thought too.
JL: Yeah. It’s unfortunate that he was under the impression that I couldn’t handle the scene because of the size of his cock, because that definitely wasn’t the case. He is big, but I have had bigger.
HCG: Didn’t you do a scene with Lexington Steele?
JL: No.
HCG: I’m sorry. There was talk about you doing a scene like that.
JL: Yeah.
HCG: But it wasn’t a revenge thing.
JL: No.
HCG: You know those pesky Internet rumors.
JL: No, no revenge. Whatever I do now has nothing to do with my past.
HCG: You don’t seem like that to me.
JL: No.
HCG: You just don’t seem like you fucking care.
JL: No, we are kind of getting all over the place, but at this point in my life, I don’t care. I’m just so removed from any kind of drama. As far as working, I am all for rough sex and play and I know what is exciting and titillating to watch on screen, but also the guy that is doing this to the woman, I think they can do it, I think it is a very fine line, to see that forcefulness to a woman, but also you’ve got to see…the respect aspect of it. And here, there was none. It was a rough scene. I have never felt anything like this before. It was difficult. At one point my fist clenched and I wanted to break his jaw. You know? I had to pull myself back. I was going to continue with the scene, you know, whether I was black, blue, bloody, or crawling across the floor, I was going to finish that scene. I was going to give it my all because I don’t like letting people down so I was going to go forward but why I had to stop the scene and chose not to work with [Rocco] anymore was because of the disregard for my safety. He decided to take it upon himself to take the tips off the condoms. That is not okay. The day before he had asked me if he could do this and I said no, you cannot, I am not on the pill. I am very fertile at his time and susceptible to getting pregnant again because I just had a baby ten months ago. Women are fertile.
HCG: Right.
JL: I could get pregnant very easily. This is a wake up call for me that I need to get back on the pill, but that is besides the point. I gave [Rocco] my reasons why and he gave me the big ‘fuck you, I’m going to do it anyway because I am Rocco.’ It’s not okay. This is not Budapest. Maybe it is okay in your neck of the woods but here in California it is not. I am a single mom with two kids and you are subjecting me to becoming pregnant. Yes, it is a minute possibility but if I do get pregnant, am I supposed to have it? I am supposed to get an abortion? Why should I even have to stress about it?
HCG: I see.
JL: I think it was a very selfish move on his part to do that. He needs to be more professional and wear the condom, do the scene, and when he is ready to cum, take it off, fine, cum on my face, cum on my mouth, whatever you want to do, fine, but it didn’t play out that way. So I’m pretty upset. It’s very awkward and uncomfortable to even be on set.
HCG: At least it is the last day and you can go home.
JL: True but what is a drag is that there was supposed to be a second movie that was going to be mine and Rocco’s and he was going to do a second movie, but now I get to go home. I feel like…I don’t know…he got a slap on the wrist, but not really because I am the one being told to go home.
HCG: You stood your ground though and I think that is more important than anything else. You did what you thought was right for you. Isn’t that it’s own reward?
JL: I did stand my own ground. I’m getting both sides of this. A lot of guys see this as not being that big of a deal and he’s just being crazy Rocco and other girls maybe that have kids can understand more of where I am coming from. We are talking about life. This isn’t something that you fuck around with, you know? You’re going to get people who think that this is petty and you’re going to get people that say, you know what, she’s got a point.
HCG: I guess the bottom line is that it is what you want.
JL: It’s not cool. Trust me I am the last person to rock the boat. I was excited about this production. I mean, are you kidding? This is Rocco. He is porn royalty. To do this was an honor.
HCG: But in a sense aren’t you porn royalty as well?
JL: I would not put myself in the same category as Rocco. All I know is that this came down to other types of issues and stuff. I told him not to and he did it anyways, not okay. I guess we will see how this plays out. People I am sure are going to be curious about the outcome of the scene. I am curious…
HCG: You mean how well it will cut?
JL: Right.
HCG: It might cut together really well.
JL: I hope so. I want Vivid to get a really good movie out of it.
HCG: Let’s move on to something a little more happy.
JL: Okay then, on a happy note…
HCG: Let’s talk about your website.
JL: It is still http://realjanine.com. We don’t have new stuff right now. We are planning on a new website look at the beginning of 2005 but right now the natives are getting restless. I’ve been dancing or doing movies and all the pretty girl pictures I have been doing in the movies I can’t get until the movies come out so it is all kind of at a standstill.
HCG: Maybe you should do some more content shoots?
JL: That is the thing. I have been in my new house and raising my daughter so things are just crazy. I have pulled out a few days next week and Jay, Jenna’s husband, is going to shoot me at Jenna’s house…
HCG: The new house?
JL: Yeah. That will be cool.
HCG: So good stuff is coming then?
JL: Yes so I hope my fans will just hold their horses for a little bit longer and we will get some new stuff up for the holidays.
HCG: So that is the future for you, shooting, the website, and possibly directing for someone?
JL: I think I would go gonzo and direct for myself and then take it to either Vivid or Jill Kelly and have them distribute it.
HCG: Well Happy Birthday.
JL: I am 36 today and I am wondering seriously how much longer I have left in porn. I don’t want to be walking in with my walker but I think I’ve got a few more years in me.
HCG: Any new tattoo’s planned in the future?
JL: Yes. Actually I do have one that I want. I am the spokesmodel for a new clothing company. It’s this tattoo vintage wear. Ed Hardy, who is a famous tattoo artist out of San Francisco, I think he is around 60, has put his designs on clothes and these are fantastic clothes. But he is going to give me a nice big tattoo and what I want is the Oregon motto, which is three Latin words which mean “she flies with her own wings.”
HCG: You are very proud of your newly acquired fringe culture.
JL: Yes.
